2017 Call for Submissions

The Dylan Ellis Gallery is seeking submissions for several group and solo shows in 2017.

As a rental gallery, we promote photographers in various stages of their careers with the hope that are able to successfully meet their goals. No commission is taken on sales.

Group shows

Each exhibition will be a curated eight person show. Each photographer will have five feet of wall space to showcase their framed images. Photographers can book more than one spot.

Spots are booked on a first come first served basis.

July 3-August 28 | Opening July 21 from 6-9pm

Abstract
September 1-September 27 2017 | Opening September 7 2017 from 6-9pm

Urban
October 1-October 30 2017 | Opening October 12 2017 from 6-9pm

Emergence
December 1-January 8 2018 | Opening December 15 2017 6-9pm

Solo Show

This space can be used to launch a new body of work or provide a more formal presentation for gallery’s and curators.

BIO

I am a child of the 1950’s, third of four children of two WWII veterans. As a businessman our father travelled extensively, and we lived in various cities in Canada as well as five years in Australia. After graduating high school in Winnipeg I came to Toronto to study photography at Ryerson. On leaving Ryerson my career started with three years employment at Agfa’s distribution centre here in Toronto. I then began seeking work as an assistant/photographer and was fortunate to join with Masao Abe for ten years and Shun Sasabuchi for fifteen years. I am very grateful to both these photographers as they helped me grow both professionally and artistically.During this time I was persuing my own work, primarily event and street photography .
