We know that through exhaustive research on print permanence that the noble metals of platinum palladium will not fade, in fact the paper will decompose before the metal will go away. Platinum palladium and gum over palladium have the look, texture and feeling of work done in the very beginning of photographic printmaking. Contemporary prints cannot give us the colour palette and physical sense that these two processes offer. In both cases the paper is Hahnemühle Platinum. The noble metal of platinum palladium sinks into the very fabric of this paper and any resulting pigment is layered on top for an exquisite image.
With this two-day workshop, you will be getting a hands on group learning experience. One of your own images will be printed with both processes so that you can compare. As a group, you will be working with Bob to print your images. Together you will complete each step of the process and in the end get to take home two prints. Negatives will be separated ahead of the workshop, but Bob will go over these steps during the workshop.
